Hello and welcome to Lochaber RFC Youth Section, we are a small friendly club based in Banavie and run by volunteers.

We welcome any child (boy or girl) from P1 upwards.

All our youth coaches are volunteers who give their time because they care about helping young people enjoy rugby. Every coach is SRU‑trained, holding either Foundation, Adult Level 1, or Adult Level 2 qualifications.

To ensure a safe environment for every child, all Youth Coaches have been screened by Disclosure Scotland, and the club has fully adopted the SRU Youth Coaching Guidelines. Lochaber RFC also achieved Positive Coaching Accreditation in 2012, reflecting our long‑standing commitment to creating a supportive, encouraging atmosphere for young players.

We hope your child enjoys learning to play rugby with us — and we’re delighted to welcome new parents into the club community too. Saturday mornings are a great chance to support and encourage your child, meet other families, and become part of the wider Lochaber RFC family.

Rugby offers so much more than sport. Your child will have fun, get active, build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop the strength of character to handle both success and disappointment.

Parents are warmly encouraged to stay during sessions. The kettle is always on in the kitchen — please help yourself to a tea, coffee, or hot chocolate in return for a small donation to cover costs. It’s a lovely way to chat, get to know other parents, and feel part of the club.
