
Lochaber Rugby Club does not offer an in-house catering service, however if you wish to provide your own food or an external caterer, you may do so at your own risk, the club will not take any responsibility for any of your party taking unwell due to something they ate at the function. We provide a catering size cooker, fridge and freezer for food storge and you are permitted to use our crockery and cutlery on condition that they are all cleaned and put away at the end of the function. Important: You are not permitted to take home any club pots, pans, bowls, serving trays etc
COOKING EQUIPMENT
We have 6 burner gas cooker and oven. The main switch to turn it on is adjacent to the fridge / kitchen door and follow the instructions on the sheet on the wall. The gas cylinder bottles are at the rear of the Clubhouse – they are normally left in the ON position, but recommend you do a quick check if the gas is not coming through – and turn it on manually. In addition, we have an electric double basket deep fat fryer, griddle and a warming oven.
DISHWASHER & DISHTOWELS
Depending on the size of the function, you may opt to wash the dishes by hand, but if you are using our washer, the instruction on how to use them are on the shelve to the left of the kitchen window. We recommend that you put the dishwasher on at the start of your shift, it takes a while to warm up. The wash cycles last 2 mins each.
• Please scrape off excess food into bin before putting into dishwasher – this prevents the filter being blocked and easier for you to clean out the dishwasher at the end of the shift.
• Give the plates and cutlery a quick rinse or steep in the sink before loading
Once the dishes are complete, please follow the instructions on the instruction sheet on how to empty the machine. You must not leave any water in the dishwasher – this is a major hygiene issue and please dry off the inside of the dishwasher with blue paper before you leave – no chemicals can be used on the inside – it will damage the machine. Dishtowels: You may use your own if you prefer, but if you use the clubs’ dishtowels, please leave the used/damp ones at the right-hand side of the sink and someone from the Club will arrange to take them home and clean them.
FINAL CHECKS
In the interest of Health & Safey, please clear and clean the kitchen of any spillages, including the work surfaces, bins and floor etc. We provide a brush mop and bucket and spare bin liners and floor cleaner are available from the Cleaners cupboard next to the ‘Gents’ toilet. Works surfaces must be left clear and clean.
Do not leave any left-over food/snacks etc in the Fridge – take them home with you or bin them. All, of all leftover food, snacks etc and take them home with you – it’s essential to have our kitchen ‘ready to go’ for any commercial bookings etc through the week.
