Final Score Lochaber U14's - 11 tries Caithness U14's - 11 tries

Lochaber U14's hosted a depleted Caithness squad on Sunday 09 December 2018. The Lochaber boys loaned the visitors a number of players, and initially it appeared that the more cohesive home team would run away with the game. However, as the Caithness boys and their new team-mates gained confidence in each other, they gradually got back into the game. With 5 minutes to go, Caithness managed to level the scores, and while Lochaber tried desperately for the winner, it was not to be. Overall, it was a close hard fought match, with everyone going home tired, but happy! Individual profiles of the Lochaber boys are as follows:-

J J – a good run down the middle in the second half, breaking through a number of tackles.

Rio - made some good runs in the loose, surprisingly mobile for a big lad.

Robbie – played very well for a relative newcomer, made no real clangers.

Aaron - enthusiastic in both defence and attack, good fitness levels.

Josh - very quick and elusive, scored a couple of great winger's tries.

James – worked hard in the tight all day, never gave up.

Lennox - he and James were like two peas in the front row pod.

Hayden – put in a good shift at hooker, usually just a sniff away from the ball.

Stewart – always in the right position for scrumhalf, at the base of rucks, scrums, and line-outs.

Zack - played with great heart and skill at fly-half, including some sublime cross-kicks to his wingers.

Ryan – good hard straight running with the ball in hand, and always willing to get involved.

Archie - made some great runs from centre in the first half.

Callum - defended his wing well, and followed up attacking kicks all day.

Ruaraidh - a safe pair of hands in both defence and attack, never put a foot wrong.

Lastly, a special mention goes to the fabulous five who donned the Caithness strip for the day without a whimper, and then proceeded to play their hearts out, scaring the daylights out of their black and gold team-mates!
