Spirited First XV Lose Away to Police Scotland

Lochaber's First XV traveled away to face Police Scotland Glasgow, their first competitive league fixture since late 2017, which ended in defeat.

Police Scotland Glasgow took their chances against a Lochaber team with a man down and, with a poor start to the game, were almost dominated late on by the away side but instead a late score in the final minutes of the game sealed the win for the home side with the game ending 26 - 10.

Slippery Glasgow conditions hampered both sides but Lochaber got their first try of the afternoon when Christopher Simpson received the ball on the right wing around 30 metres out after some quick hands. Simpson showed his power and determination by breaking of three tackles on his way to the try line.

Lochaber started the second half by conceding a score to Police Scotland again scoring almost straight from the kick off to extend their lead. Lochaber then lost a player to injury with around 20 minutes left.

Despite being two men down Lochaber were next to score. With a maul being held up over the line Lochaber had the put in for a five metre scrum. Lochaber turned up the pressure and, through a couple of tight phases, Simpson crossed the whitewash abd scored his second try after powering his way over from close range.

A Lochaber resurgence didn’t quite materialise, however, and PSG exploited the numbers advantage and grabbed their their fourth try of the game late on.

Despite the spirited performance from the visiting side in challenging circumstances, the final score ended 26-10 to Police Scotland Glasgow.
