Lochaber RFC travelled to Highland Rugby Club on Saturday 23rd April to face their 'Raptors' XV in the Two Ronnie's Cup 1st Leg, a rejuvenated fixture between the two old rivals as part of Highland Rugby Club's centenary year.

The Two Ronnie's Cup was bought by two members one from each club Ronnie Bremner from Highland and Ronnie Young from Lochaber, who in their day played against each other but were both businessmen in both Inverness and Fort William and wanted to get an annual cup fixture between both clubs.

Both were thinking about a name for the Cup when somebody (name unknown) witnessed the discussion and just said to them it has to be the 'Two Ronnies Cup' as at that time it was a very popular comedy show the two Ronnies! So, it began. However, the Cup/ fixture has not been played for quite some time and it was really good to get it reinstated.

Both sides thoroughly enjoyed the game and are looking forward to the 2nd Leg to be played at Lochaber Rugby Club, Banavie in August.
