Donnie started his rugby career at Lochaber High School ,then progressed to Lochaber Rugby Club, where he played prop forward for many years. Donnie then moved to Caithness where he continued his rugby career playing for Caithness Rugby Club.

He played against his former teammates on a few occasions but always gave his all, to who ever he played for. An immense player on the field and a total gentleman off it.

We send our condolences and love to Donnie's family and friends and teammates from Lochaber RFC and Caithness RFC .

Back in the day, your former team mates were always glad to see in the changing room — the steady voice, the honest grafter. We remember the hits, the laughs, the long away days and the stories that grew bigger every time they were told.
