Annual Membership Fees Are Due

Annual membership fees are due to be paid by 30th September. Can members please arrange for their payments to be sent to The Membership Secretary, The Clubhouse, Banavie, Fort William PH33 7LY. Cheques should be made payable to 'Lochaber Rugby Club'

Good news! fees have remained the same again this year, i.e.:

Life - £450

Full/Playing - £45 

Apprentices & Students in full time education - £25

Associate - £15

Youth (P3-S6) - £10

Players should note there is a penalty for late payments. Any payments received after 31st October will incur a £10 fine.  They are also reminded that they will not be covered under the clubs insurance unless they have paid their fees.

COACHES MEETING
06 July 2010

A coaches meeting is being held on Sunday 22nd August at 2pm in the Clubhouse. This is to discuss and agree a coaching structure for the forthcoming season.  All coaches are asked to make every effort to attend.

PRE SEASON TRAINING
05 July 2010

Pre season training starts on Saturday 10th July at the Black Parks, 2pm, with a BBQ at the clubhouse to follow.

Players should meet at the clubhouse at 1.30pm.

New players of all abilities will be made very welcome

Former Players Marry

Congratulations to David Whyte and Rachael Nicolson who tied the knot on Saturday.  David and Rachael both played for the club and are now playing rugby in Glasgow where they live with their daughter Abby.

Youth Awards Ceremony
21 June 2010

The Youth Awards Ceremony for Season 2009/2010 took place on Saturday 19th June marking the end of another season at Banavie. 

An informal presentation was made to Gibby to mark his retirement as Youth Convenor as a token of appreciation from the kids and other coaches at the club.

The award results are posted on the "Youth News" tab and photographs have been uploaded into the Gallery.

 

Under-18 Girls' programme kicks off

Following on from the first round of under-18 girls' regional trials on 6 June, we are pleased to announce that Lochaber’s Laura Davies has been asked back to a second trial / training session on 13 June at Nairn Academy for the North West Region.
 
Unfortunately due to lack of girls in Lochaber Laura has to travel to Nairn to get games with The Northern Vixens, but we are really pleased & proud of her - Well done Laura!
 
Islay Beach Rugby

Good luck to our boys who are taking part in the annual beach rugby competiton in Islay this weekend. We attended last year for the first time and the boys enjoyed it so much they entered again this year.

Inter School Tag Rugby Competition
05 May 2010

A busy day at Banavie today, we hosted our Annual Inter School Tag Rugby Competition.  We had 240 children (18 primary schools) attend the morning competition and 3 of the 4 Lochaber High Schools in the afternoon.

The victors this year were P4/5 Morar PS, P6/7 Fort William PS and S1/2 Mallaig High School.

Thank you to all the schools for supporting this event and also to the Active School Co-ordinators for organising the running of todays competition.

We hope you all had a good day a look forward to seeing you all again next year.
